The Opening Night film, beginning at 7:30 pm in the Panorama Ray Theatre, is the World Premiere of Sean Irish’s “Artist Unknown.” The filmmaker’s synopsis: “Jon Thorson (Krispin Harker), a twenty something artist and musician living a comfortable hand-to-mouth existence, has that life irretrievably altered when he stumbles upon a robbery and suffers a debilitating blow to the head. Afterwards, his already complex spirit is troubled by the intrusion of hallucinatory voices and visions which destroy his life layer by layer, sending him tumbling through the darkest recesses of human experience. Jon finds himself alternately bedeviled and boosted by a variety of characters real and imaginary while through it all, unanswered questions remain, like "Who am I?", "Where am I going?", and "Why is this happening to me?"”

“Artist Unknown”
Five years in the making, “Artist Unknown” is an alternately funny and troubling work that crackles with the spirit of the Atlanta art scene. Backed by a brilliantly diverse score by star Krispin Harker and co-star Lance Haugan, writer/director Sean Irish crafts unforgettably poignant images of loneliness and inspiration in the telling of one artist’s journey towards rediscovery of his own inner voice. The film’s riveting supporting cast reads like a Who’s Who of the Atlanta acting and art scene, what with appearances from the likes of Jaime Wynns, Randy Cohlmia, music legend Col. Bruce Hampton (ret.), Adrian Roberts, Mimi Gould, Dan Bush (co-director of the recent Sundance Film Festival smash “The Signal”), Leon Lamar, Randy Blain, and K.C. Reeves. Do not miss this golden opportunity to catch “Artist Unknown,” which stands (in this reviewer’s opinion) as one of the three best films ever to be shot in the Atlanta area!
