Book Arts 101

Learn the basics of bookbinding! You'll leave the class with four hand-bound books using four different binding techniques: pamphlet, accordion, Japanese stab-binding and a 2-needle coptic. Come prepared with a basic toolkit: xacto knife, large cutting mat, pencil, eraser, long metal ruler (over 12"), bone folder, scissors, cheap paintbrush for glue and 1/8" hole punch (drill punch or hand punch will be fine). If you can find one, get a paper piercer or a bookbinding awl. If you can't, there will be a few on hand to use and some available for purchase.

Acrylic Painting Mini-Workshop

Discover the exciting world of Acrylic Painting! We will learn to paint with wild abandon and get out of the way of our own “critical inner voice”! I believe in “paint first – think later”! Learn to play with color and shape. We will not paint from still life or photograph but paint unique subjects that come directly from your heart.

No prior experience is necessary. This workshop is for anyone who wants to discover painting for the shear joy of painting! Supplies included.
